She was running. As fast as she could. Panting. A stitch threatened her stamina, but she refused to let it stop her. Gritting her teeth harder, she fought through the pain. The bullies were close behind. She could hear them laughing through their taunts. If she could make it out of the park and home, she knew she would be safe. She had to keep running. It was not to be. Her foot caught. She fell. The bullies swarmed, victorious.
